Job Summary

AECOM have a great opportunity for an experienced Revit/CAD Structural Technician. The post would be based in our Clarence Street West offices in Belfast city centre. The building structures team is currently looking to expand due to an exciting pipeline of workload. The team are currently delivering a number of BIM level 2 projects and are looking to enhance their existing capability. The role would also provide an excellent opportunity for career progression.

Minimum Requirements

  • proven experience of building structures Revit/BIM experience, including competency in the use of Autodesk Revit Structures, AutoCAD and CADS RC in the delivery of structural related projects. This shall include the

  • Knowledge and experience of modelling reinforced concrete and steelwork framed buildings

  • Experience of co-ordinating building structures models with the architect and MEP engineer.

  • Able to undertake clash detection checks through the export into Navisworks application. A good understanding of the application of sharing/reviewing models within a BIM 360 Glue environment would be beneficial.

  • Produce accurate & BIM data rich 3D models using Revit. 3D Models should be of sufficient integrity to enable accurate material take-offs/scheduling, and able to export good quality detailed 2D output to suit relevant RIBA workstages.

  • Able to manage and document control all in-coming and out-going models and drawing information, through the use of project extranets and CDE’s, to comply with the requirements of the defined BIM Execution Plan.

  • Good working knowledge of PAS 1192, to allow implementation of AECOM best practice procedures and protocols, and work to specific project standards defined in the BEP. Ensure proper QA/QC protocols are implemented.

  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and structural detailing to supplement 3D work.

  • Willingness to adapt to new concepts and software. Motivated to keep up to date with technological developments in quickly changing industry.

  • Develop engineer’s concepts and sketches into accurate models and drawings, through direct communications with limited supervision.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your work commitments, whilst working on a number of projects simultaneously.

  • Able to demonstrate relevant project experience.

  • Excellent communication skills in the English language, both written and verbal.

  • Self-motivated and being able to take responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum B Grade in GCSE Mathematics

  • Relevant work related HNC
