Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking Principal Mechanical Engineer.

Job Duties:

  • Carry out design and specification of mechanical building services systems for construction projects.

  • Liaise with internal and external design teams.

  • Liaise directly with clients.

  • Carry out site inspections and reporting during construction phase of projects.

  • Work to all relevant AECOM and external standards.

  • Become and AECOM Project Manager, effectively control commercial, managerial and technical aspects of the project.

  • Assist the Associate Director with their team management responsibilities.

  • Ensure effective communication of business issues to all staff reporting to you.

  • Implement the Company's strategy relating to customers with regard to gaining repeat business, and be aware of marketing opportunities and the capability of the business as a whole

Minimum Requirements

  • The candidate should have experience of the design and specification of building services systems, ideally in a consultancy role.

  • They should be a good communicator with good team working ability, and have experience of the management of junior staff.

  • They should understand financial and resourcing elements of project control and should be self-motivated and willing to learn and develop

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally should hold a degree in a relevant engineering discipline and which is accredited by CIBSE and/or IMechE. Should be either a Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered Engineer status
