AECOM are looking to recruit a Bid Manager who will lead major bids for its Water Ports and Power team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for devising a bid programme, agreeing key deliverables, managing inputs from Subject Matter Experts and driving progress through to successful submission. The Bid Manager will work collaboratively with technical leads, members of the End Market teams, writers, graphic designers and leadership team as well as manage bid coordinators.
Responsible for driving the bid through all stages, from capture management and win strategy development, through the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) and proposal submission to interview/presentation preparation and debrief sessions. He/she will provide consistency through the entire process, responsible for sharing lessons learnt and driving continuous improvement in our process and bidding efforts.
Aside from supporting bids, the Bid Manager will take a lead on ensuring the success of WPP work winning activity. Additional responsibilities will include but not limited to: managing the WPP pipeline of opportunities, driving bid best practice through training and supporting the WPP work winning team to develop processes, tools and guides around bidding.
Promote a culture of success and drive a winning bid strategy.
Lead an effective bid team, identify and brief contributors from across the business and manage, motivate and support them throughout the programme.
Facilitate workshops/planning meetings including working with key proposal contributors to establish a clear win strategy and develop storyboard content.
Manage the compliance and overseeing reviews of the quality and commercial content.
Gather essential client information from the Strategy & Growth team. Driving the process to research the client’s aspirations and sharing this knowledge and intelligence with the team.
Promote the use of AECOM’s work winning processes and tools.
Identify bid training requirements for team members.
Develop the requirements for each bid in a clear and easy-to-understand way.
Prepare and manage the bid budget.
Manage and maintain version control for bid documents and issuing them to the appropriate functions for response/review/signature in line with the bid programme.
Instill a culture where others share knowledge, insights and learning.
Identify and share lessons learned as inputs to the continuous improvement of the bidding process and tools.
Train teams to prepare for client interviews and presentations.

Relevant years of experience in the coordination and management of winning bids, preferably in the engineering, architecture, consulting environment
Strong communication skills with an excellent command of written and spoken English.
