AECOM Roads in Ireland is a well-established and growing team with over 100 professionals operating from three core locations serving a range of clients. We are seeking a highly driven Associate Director to join our Roads Team, based in our Dublin (Dun Laoghaire) office delivering projects across the country. The candidate will provide technical and commercial leadership to our in-house multidisciplinary teams based on a strong track record in the Roads consultancy sector. This role offers excellent opportunities for the successful candidate.
The candidate will have a consistent record of business development, project delivery and team leadership. They will be confident in preparing feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design and administration of contracts through construction and handover. Project involvement will cover schemes of various sizes, ranging from major national roads schemes to local authority improvement projects.
Job Duties :
Promote a health and safety focused culture by undertaking mandatory duties, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for the project team members, and fulfilling all responsibilities for health and safety in design
Act as a Project Director and Project Manager including monitoring financial performance. Comprehensive training on AECOM’s project management system will be provided
Manage a wide portfolio of Road projects from pursuit through to completion or single large scale commissions
Monitor key project performance indicators and ensure that project data is accurate and provided in a timely manner
Prepare reports and communicate with senior management in a clear and concise manner
Manage resources to meet project requirements and workload
Assist with the career progression of line reports and ensure strong staff development and mentoring arrangements are in place
Actively participate in thought leadership in the industry, contributing to publications and new standards Specific Skills Required
Confidently perform as a client interface
Establish strong working relationships with local clients in Ireland through project delivery and business development
Contribute to bidding activity by preparing tender responses including quality and commercial submissions
A successful track record in the management and delivery of Roads projects
Experience in TII Standards, Project Management Guidelines, and Project Appraisal Guidelines.
Good working knowledge of contract forms including PWC/GCC/ NEC/FIDIC
Demonstrated commercial acumen, and the ability to contribute to bid development;
A minimum of a BSC, BEng, MEng in Civil Engineering, Masters will be preferred
Appropriate Chartered status with a relevant institution (e.g Engineers Ireland, ICE, CIHT or similar)
