Job Summary

AECOM is currently looking to appoint a Civil & Structural Engineer to form part of our Civil Design team in Croydon. We are seeking an individual who:

  • Thrives on the technical challenge of heavy civil and structural engineering projects and has experience in at least some of the following type of schemes: water treatment works, wastewater treatment works, attenuation shafts, below ground chambers and large infrastructure schemes.

  • Enjoys working collaborative with design colleagues, contractors and clients to solve complex problems.

  • Is proactive and able to promote multi-disciplinary working across civil, structural, mechanical, process disciplines.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to develop their career with later opportunities to develop into more senior roles and responsibilities.

You will be joining a highly skilled multi disciplinary design team working on a varied and interesting project workload both locally and nationally.

Minimum Requirements

  • Technically capable in structures and heavy civil engineering.

  • Have a good understanding of relevant codes and standards.

  • Have experience of the design process in feasibility, outline and detailed design stages.

  • Understanding of the application, benefits and limitations of a wide range of solutions to problems.

  • Take responsibility for delivering project work to programme, cost and quality requirements.

  • Ability to liaise with client, contractor and the supply chain as needed.

  • Value and contribute to a strong Health and Safety culture.

  • Have an enthusiastic and collaborative approach to your work, demonstrating the relevant behaviours and work ethos to solve client and project problems.

  • Ability to demonstrate the above through past experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You will hold an accredited degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or have a commensurate mix of experience and qualification.

  • You will either be a Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer, or be working towards professional qualification.

  • You will have experience of the design of structural and heavy civil engineering projects and the water industry.
