Job Description
We’re looking for a Principal Civil and Structural Engineer to work on Major Civils projects of a tunnelling nature at all levels to join our team in Croydon, with an exciting and growing project portfolio, there is no better time to join us! Although advertised as a full time role, part time options will also be considered.
Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team typically managing the technical work of others
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design to complete all stages of design from feasibility to detailed designs.
Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Has good understanding of the rules for detailing reinforced concrete structures
Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepares technical specification sections.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications
We recognise a variety of experience and backgrounds may suit this role and that experience levels in specific technical areas may vary. If you feel you only meet some of the requirements below or have transferrable skills, we would still love to hear from you!
You will ideally be educated to degree level in Civil or Civil & Structural Engineering, and/ or have MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics/ Geotechnical/ Tunnelling Engineering, coupled with a professional membership.
You will have broad experience as a designer in Reinforced Concrete to Eurocodes in relation to underground structures such as secant piles, capping beams, segmental shaft linings, in situ concrete structural elements, D-Walls, shafts and tunnels.
A Civil or Structural Engineer with good familiarity of Geotechnical Engineering principles as they apply to soil-structure interaction
