We are currently looking to appoint an experienced Technical Director with a Civil & Structural Engineering background to help lead the technical delivery of projects delivered by our Croydon Water civil engineering design team. We are seeking an individual who:
Will lead the technical delivery of projects being delivered by our water civil/structures team.
Will work with the team leader to grow the team’s capability, capacity and workload with established clients
Thrives on the technical challenge of heavy civil and structural engineering projects and has experience in the following type of schemes: water treatment works, wastewater treatment works, attenuation shafts, below ground chambers and large infrastructure schemes.
Enjoys working collaborative with design colleagues, contractors and clients to solve complex problems
Is proactive and able to promote multi-disciplinary working across civil, structural, mechanical, process disciplines.
Is able to mentor more junior members of the team technically, and foster a strong overall team ethos.

Working alongside a regional director, act as technical lead for our water civils team in Croydon. Have responsibility for technical and personal development of the team. Be able to plan for growth and development of the team.
Be able to support the team leader through liaison with local clients to help generate a sustainable pipeline of work for the team by nurturing client relationships already established as part of our long term local frameworks
Technically strong in heavy civil engineering in the water industry, your experience should include the design of water retaining structures and reinforced concrete
Take the role as lead civil engineer on water engineering design and heavy civil engineering projects. Have a detailed understanding of relevant codes and standards.
Have experience of the design process in feasibility, outline and detailed design stages. Be the design interface for the contractor and client in the construction phase.
Understanding of the application, benefits and limitations of a wide range of solutions to problems
Understanding of construction and operational requirements within design.
Take responsibility for delivering project work to programme, cost and quality requirements
Ability to liaise with client, contractor and the supply chain
Value and contribute to a strong Health and Safety culture
Have an enthusiastic and collaborative approach to your work, demonstrating the relevant behaviours and work ethos to solve client and project problems
Ability to demonstrate the above through past experience
You will hold an accredited degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or have a commensurate mix of experience and qualification
You will either be a Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer with a significant amount of experience in the Water industry and a proven track record.
You will have significant experience of the design of structural and heavy civil engineering projects and the water industry
