Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned mechanical engineers and contribute to a range of projects and tasks related to mechanical systems and products. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of mechanical engineering. You will play a vital role in supporting the engineering team, gaining valuable skills, and contributing to the success of ongoing projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Support: Assist in the design and development of mechanical components, systems, and products under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Prototyping and Testing: Collaborate in the fabrication of prototypes and conduct tests to evaluate performance, efficiency, and reliability.

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data from experiments and tests, and assist in analyzing the results to provide valuable insights and recommendations.

  • CAD Modeling: Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create 3D models and engineering drawings.

  • Documentation: Maintain organized documentation of engineering activities, including reports, design specifications, and project updates.

  • Research: Conduct research on materials, manufacturing processes, and emerging technologies to support engineering decisions and project advancements.

  • Support in Project Management: Assist in tracking project progress, deadlines, and milestones, and actively participate in team meetings.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment during all engineering activities.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a relevant mechanical engineering degree program or a related field.

  • Proficiency in fundamental mechanical engineering principles and concepts.

  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and design.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills and the willingness to learn from experienced engineers.

  • Experience with prototyping, fabrication, or mechanical testing (preferred but not mandatory).

  • Proficiency in English, Dutch is a plus.
