AECOM is looking to recruit a consultant level Environmental Scientist/Engineer to help deliver high quality contaminated land and remediation consulting services to clients

You’ll be enthusiastic and well-organised, able to quickly learn new skills and work to changing project and programme demands. You’ll be capable of task management and coordination, taking ownership of tasks to see them through to completion, and be comfortable dealing with clients and contractors.


Our award-winning team is one of the largest contaminated land/remediation-focused teams in Ireland and the UK, working for leading Irish, UK and multinational clients on commissions of varying scale across a range of sectors including commercial development, aviation, rail, power, transportation, technology, chemical and pharmaceutical.


This position will provide exposure to a range of projects and clients, and opportunities to develop and to take on responsibility as you work amongst a team of peers while learning first-hand from our in-house technical leaders.

Combining site work with data assessment, reporting and task management, you may work on:

  • Preliminary and detailed site assessment

  • Site investigation design

  • Quantitative risk assessment

  • Remediation design, implementation and validation

  • Waste classification and excavated soils management

  • Environmental due diligence​

  • We embrace flexible and hybrid working arrangements under AECOM’s Freedom to Grow policy. While nominally based in our Dublin, Cork or Galway offices, successful candidates may combine working from home within the Republic of Ireland with in-person attendance and site-based work.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant contaminated land experience in a consultancy environment

  • Hands on experience of ground investigation: site management, drilling supervision, soil logging, soil/groundwater/ground gas sampling

  • Experience of data management (e.g. ESdat, gINT, EQuIS)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment

  • Willingness to travel

  • Driving licence

Preferred Qualifications

  • You will ideally hold a degree in an environmental, science or engineering based subject.
