Job Summary

Job Summary :

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Health & Safety and PSDP Consultant for our centrally located Dublin office working with our Projects and Consulting team.

This role would suit an experienced H&S professional looking for career progression in an exciting and busy team, working on exciting constructions projects.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the industry, excellent knowledge of the Construction Health & Safety Legislation / Regulations and enthusiastic on the role of the PSDP. We are looking for an ambitious team player with strong development skills who wishes to assist in the development of innovative, cost effective and buildable solutions in an environment that is collaborative, stimulating and demanding. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to progress their career in a dynamic team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As a Senior Health & Safety & PSDP Consultant you will have the appropriate level of technical expertise is required in order that the Job / Project Accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard:

  • Undertake the role of Project Supervisor Design Process for selected projects on behalf of AECOM

  • Provide technical support, leadership and safety cultural development to Engineering departments

  • Provide guidance on legislative compliance and industry best practice

  • Provide advice to Clients, Design and Construction teams on compliance with the SHWW Act 2005 and SHWW (Construction) Regulations 2013

  • Preparation and delivery of technical training programmes to Clients, Designers, Contractors and Vendors

  • Preparation of PSDP elements of new business proposals and marketing materials

  • Contribute to PSDP and design safety continuous improvement projects

  • Driving delivery of safe designs through development of robust Health & Safety design processes

  • Production of project related Health & Safety documentation and reports including PS&HP and Safety File.

  • Attendance to selected project Design Team meetings.

  • Carrying out selected site visits and Health & Safety audits.

  • Ensure project records are accurate and correctly updated and maintained including but not limited to; safe work method statements, Health & Safety plans, PSDP coordination meeting minutes, etc.

  • Undertake Project Health & Safety Reviews to examine opportunities to provide safer.

  • You will have strong development skills and have the ability to develop and manage the work of others if and when required.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within a multi-disciplinary design team.

  • Establishing strong working relationships with other internal teams, particularly within AECOM’s transportation division

  • Be aware of and understand the AECOM IMS procedures, their importance and their application to projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • You will have a good and clear understanding / knowledge of Construction projects

  • You will have a strong understanding of the Health & Safety Regulations and associated best practices

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • A competent and construction focused Health & Safety Professional with drive and enthusiasm.

  • Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.

  • Robust and extensive understanding and awareness of H&S law and Regulations, principles, procedures;

  • Ability to work with a wide range of clients, professionals and contractors in a non-confrontational way;

  • IT literate in using Windows based packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook;

  • Strong communication and written skills are essential;

  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team;

  • Experience in administering KPI’s and performance measurement systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or a related design discipline with recognised Safety and Health training (ideally post graduate Diploma level, but not essential)

  • Degree educated or equivalent in Health & Safety (ideally in Construction Health & Safety).

  • A Member of IOSH at Graduate level or above.
