AECOM is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be based in Glasgow (or Edinburgh). You will responsible for leading mechanical engineering in delivery of medium and small MEP or multi-disciplinary projects, as well as supporting more senior engineers in delivery of large, multi-disciplinary projects.
Will support mechanical engineering team lead in delivery of large multi-disciplinary projects
Will lead mechanical engineering in delivery of medium and small MEP or multi-disciplinary projects
Will undertake AECOM MEP Scotland deputy project manager role (may also include project manager role) for medium and small MEP or multi-disciplinary projects
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers, developing their technical capabilities and mentoring as appropriate.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Preferably CEng or working towards. Minimum Bachelor’s degree in mechanical building services design or similar related qualification.
Mechanical project engineering experience, within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.
Expected to travel between Edinburgh and Glasgow as necessary to fulfil project and team working requirements
Ideally will have experience in healthcare sector, leisure, commercial and higher education and / or defence sectors.
Ideally you will live locally or be willing to relocate
