The MEICA team in our Water business currently have a vacancy for a MEP CAD Technician with experience of working on large non-infrastructure projects within the water industry. The position can be based in either Exeter or St. Albans however there will be a requirement to work with MEICA teams around the UK and Ireland.
The successful candidate will be an experienced CAD technician specifically with Autodesk Revit MEP and will have extensive experience on a variety of non-infrastructure projects. You will have a proven level of experience of delivering projects to client’s satisfaction at the appropriate standard, ensuring accuracy of models and drawings, ensuring that the relevant codes and standards are complied with. You will have strong development skills and the technical ability, knowledge and competence to provide guidance and to teach others.
We are a multi-discipline team comprising civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and process engineering delivering services to our clients such as feasibility studies, scheme designs and detailed designs. The team is involved in projects in the UK, Europe and the Middle East with a variety of clients. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include Wessex Water, Thames Water, HS2, Network Rail, Environment Agency and several leading Tier 1 contractors.
Managing CAD deliverables for multiple projects to completion within budget
Effectively manage own time across multiple projects and undertake CAD duties unsupervised
Attend and contribute to design team meetings
Advise and mentor junior CAD colleagues
To work specifically on agreed projects using agreed software and following digital execution plans
Comply with quality policies for project delivery
Liaise with sector and regional CAD/BIM leads on best practice, process and technology developments
Support Digital Engineering Lead in maintaining MEICA CAD standards and processes for modelling, content creation and advanced digital developments
Post qualification experience in the AEC industry, specifically water/ wastewater treatment works and pumping stations
Experienced user of both Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit MEP essential
Working knowledge of CIC BIM Protocol, BS 1192 and related standards
Experience with other BIM software such as Autodesk Navisworks, BIM360 Glue, Infraworks, AutoCAD Plant 3D/P&ID an advantage
ProjectWise, A360/BIM360, 4Projects, Aconex or similar knowledge an advantage
A good team player confident to liaise with other staff locally and across the global business
- HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering; or HNC CAD with main experience in MEICA works
