Job Description

What your new role will entail;

AECOM are currently looking for a Civil Design Engineer to work on our joint venture Caledonia Water Alliance where we have teamed up with Morrison Water Services to deliver Scottish Water’s SR21 Water and Wastewater Infrastructure programme. You will be responsible for the following;

  • Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gather and correlate engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Work on detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and tests.

  • Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.

  • Provide guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Perform work in accordance with agreed budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

  • Liaise with construction delivery team & contribute to providing solutions to challenges that arise during the construction process.

  • Liaise with clients to obtain relevant technical consents as part of the engineering process.

  • Support the Design & Build of water infrastructure.

  • Comply with CWA Quality Assurance procedures.

Being part of the team;

You will be key to the Water Capital Maintenance Rehabilitation programme for our client, Scottish Water designing small diameter pipelines through our SR21 water infrastructure framework across Scotland.

You will be part of a diverse team of around 20x Civil Engineers and CAD Technicians, with support from specialist Designers from within the AECOM and CWA communities.

We promote staff development and progression, and there are many development opportunities within CWA. CWA offers a unique opportunity to deliver the full project cycle, from concept design through to detailed design, and delivery!

The role will be based in Stepps, which is only a 5-minute walk from the train station, and local shops/café’s and there’s also parking provided too!

Qualifications

Here's what we will need from you;

  • A background in engineering design - ideally related to water company infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets including the civil design and specification

  • Experience in Water infrastructure and/or clean water network design.
