Job Description

The technician will be working on a wide range of Building Services projects including; MoD, industrial, commercial, healthcare, military, residential, new build and refurbishment.

Job Duties:

  • Liaison with external and internal client teams

  • Preparation and coordination of drawings and BIM models

  • Preparation and coordination of Building Services drawings and details

  • Preparing technical supporting data for specifications, reports and clash detection reports etc.

  • Responsible for administering document control and ensuring compliance with AECOM policies

  • Ensure compliance to the appropriate company CAD/BIM standards and protocol

  • Production of 2D and 3D design models using industry standard modelling applications from Bentley and Autodesk.

  • Use of BS1192 relevant standards.

  • Use of LoD and the requirements required to align Models accordingly to the appropriate LoD.

  • Apply policies relating to company standards & procedures, health & safety, quality, and training

  • Liaison and contribute positively with the wider AECOM BIM Community to advance skills and service offer

  • Mentoring less experienced members of the CAD/BIM team

  • Works under direct supervision performing moderately complex technical work utilizing instructions, drawings, sketches and results from computer systems and schematics.

  • May be involved in training and supervising technical personnel.

  • May perform some data entry.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

Person Specification:

Experience

  • Significant experience in the preparation of Building Services drawings & BIM models essential

  • A background involving Building Services essential

  • AutoCAD and Revit experience essential (project Revit experience)

  • Microsoft Office suite software

  • Experience with Model reviewing and clash detection software such as Naviswiorks/BIM360

Additional Comments:

  • British National, having resided in the UK for 5 years continuously. This is a requirement for Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • A relevant degree or HND/HNC qualification. Ideally will be a Chartered Technician or will be working towards an appropriate Chartered status with membership of a professional institution.

  • Experience of working as a BIM/CAD Technician within a Building Services team.

  • Ability to produce all 2D and 3D design information required for any type of Building/Installation.

  • Experienced and proficient with AutoCAD.

  • Experience and knowledge of Revit would be preferable.

  • Coordination, scheduling and clash detection experience is preferable.

  • Working knowledge and experience of BS1192 relevant standards would be preferable.
