AECOM’s Water team in Glasgow is looking for an experienced water / wastewater treatment Senior Process Engineer to lead and support project teams on a variety of interesting, diverse and challenging projects.
The candidate must be self-motivated and able to motivate others; be able to manage time input and ensure client expectations are met. Working with an established multi-disciplinary team you will coordinate and lead the technical delivery of a range of projects covering water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure, throughout UK&I and internationally. Key clients include water utility companies, government bodies and major industrialists.
Responsible for the management of projects and other team members, overseeing the preparation and successful completion of all process deliverables, and support in work-winning / tendering
Manage the overall delivery of projects including financial coordination and reporting, client liaison, chairing and attending meetings, and management of multi-disciplinary teams
Prepare and assess budget estimates and staffing requirements for projects
Contribute to the UK&I best practice design and technical innovation for the delivery of programmes and projects in the wastewater and water treatment fields as part of the wider UK&I Process team
Take an active part in work-winning, including preparation of tenders, following leads and promoting AECOM’s capabilities
Participate in and oversee studies, assessments, modelling, preliminary and detailed design, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, tendering and contract administration
Line Manage and mentor junior staff to achieve their potential and ensure that they fulfil project requirements
Workload will include the preparation or coordination of calculations, mass balances, data sheets, specifications, process unit schedules, process trouble-shooting, data collection and analysis, feasibility/optimisation studies and the production of process drawings including PBDs, PIDs, PFDs etc.
Provide technical support and checking / verification of others’ work prior to issue
Coordination and chairing of risk assessments including HAZOP,, DSEAR, SIL, FMEA etc
Ensure compliance of design and other deliverables with all applicable standards and regulations
Liaise with other disciplines and clients to ensure clear understanding of deliverables and responsibilities
Experience in municipal and industrial water and/or wastewater treatment and reuse.
Experience in delivering projects over a range of cost and complexity.
Ability to manage and work to budgets.
Good understanding of CDM
Good understanding of Safety in Design
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or associated Scientific /Environmental discipline
Chartered or working to achieve Chartership with an appropriate engineering/scientific institution (e.g. IChemE, CIWEM)
