AECOM is currently recruiting for a
Project Accountant to be based from its offices in Leeds.
The Project Accountant will join our Project Finance team being responsible for working with Project Managers and delivery teams in a specified end market and will monitor and analyse revenue to ensure relevant revenue recognition methods are used.
Interface regularly with Project Managers and project delivery teams.
Monitor project performance and key indicators.
Support PMs as required in understanding project performance.
Monitor and analyses revenue to ensure proper revenue recognition methods used.
Explain key project metrics and lead indicators.
Understand the impact on Revenue Recognition of any unusual contractual issues on projects within the portfolio.
Participate in project review preparation, execution, and follow up.
Understand the commercial and billing requirements of the projects.
Ensure that the company's internal controls are consistently applied, compliance with SOX.
Month end close, including project revenue adjustments, WIP and loss provision analysis.
To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates with the following;
Management accounts / Project accounts experience
Revenue recognition experience
Working with / presenting to non-finance staff
Able to work independently and prioritise effectively
Specific Skills Required:
Excellent analytical, numerical and problem solving skills essential
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be pro-active and demonstrate ability to see things through to the end
Ability to be resourceful, hands on and work both independently and as part of high-performing team
Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple duties in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to take initiative and ownership. Self-motivated.
Some flexibility to work outside normal working hours to meet deadlines
Ideally degree educated or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or similar.
Either qualified with AAT/ACCA/CIMA or working towards.
