AECOM Project Financial Analyst in Leuven, Belgium

Job Summary

Due to an expending operation AECOM Netherlands is currently hiring a Project Financial Analyst to join our Construction Services team in The Hague (NL) or Leuven (BE)

As a Project Financial Analyst you support project or proposal cost activities including engineering, procurement, construction, start up, and operations. You provide the tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule for concurrent projects throughout the organization.

Furthermore your activities include planning, cost and schedule (work breakdown structure) metrics and tools, collecting performance data, tracking data (cost compilation and monitoring), analysing data (earned value, productivity and risk analysis) and reporting.

We are looking for a pro-active team player who can strengthen a client program-oriented finance support team, largely located in Bucharest and further standardize and structure our activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collects updates and produces spend and cost management reports.

  • Integrates cost and schedule data and reporting with the Company's accounting and management information systems to facilitate meeting company performance and financial goals.

  • Understands and applies knowledge of project revenue and cost.

  • Researches data for subsequent use in analysing cost and schedule variances.

  • Support areas of workload including Capex and Opex, programs and small works; requiring regular liaison with Project and Operation Managers, Commercial Manager and his team, local finance teams and occasional liaison with suppliers, contractors and client, with local meetings where necessary.

  • Assets under construction review / update / capitalize in Client’s financial systems

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of work breakdown structures (WBS) and helps to insure effective use of project coding for Company’s cornerstone applications.

  • Collects data and produces an initial analysis on manpower, labour hour, and labour cost requirements versus budget limitations.

  • Develops knowledge of earned value concepts, principles and methodology.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business or related field of study.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in engineering, procurement and construction projects in a cost control and/ or planning & scheduling position.

  • Knowledge of engineering economics & project costs and/ or planning & scheduling.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel including V-Lookups & Pivot Tables and Power BI

  • Experience of operating within constraints of a client accounting package

  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Attention to detail and quality approach to assignments.

  • Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with internal/external audit

  • Experience in use of ERPs - SAP/Oracle etc

  • Experience with Purchase and General Ledger

  • Fluent Dutch language skills are an advantage
