Job Summary

AECOM is a leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy. We are seeking a Intermediate/Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in London MEP team. You will responsible for calculations, designs, technical reports, for our UK&I wide projects.

Job Summary:

The London office are looking for an intermediate / Senior Electrical Engineer to join their established team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed design information including calculations, drawings, technical reports and technical specifications

  • Provide Support to Electrical discipline lead

  • Attend design team and client meetings

  • Review the work of Engineers and Graduates and provide support and guidance.

  • Act as a mentor to junior staff and promote CPD activities

  • Consider financial implications in producing design options

  • Carry out risk assessments and value engineering

Minimum Requirements

  • Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business

  • Extensive experience in electrical building services design within an engineering consultancy

  • Experience of seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with clients

  • Excellent technical understanding of electrical building services for the different sectors along with a good overview of the other disciplines in building services

  • Relevant experience in Electrical Engineering design, including areas such as specification writing, calculations, and developing designs from first principles including electrical system distribution (HV/LV), power, lighting, fire alarm, earthing, control systems, BS9999 & BS 8517 Life Safety systems, and be conversant with codes and practices

  • Ability to work and deliver projects within Revit

  • Experience in delivering to projects through RIBA stages 2 to 5

  • Experience in commercial office, Data Centre and residential sectors would be an advantage

Preferred Software Experience

  • Trimble Amtech

  • Dialux / Relux

  • AUTOCAD

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Revit

  • Navisworks/Manage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Requires BEng, preferably MEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning

  • Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership

  • Experience in commercial office, Data Centre and residential sectors would be an advantage
