Job Summary
Our team are leaders in developing strategies that help communities around the world plan and prepare for future shocks and stresses. We are now looking for a new Consultant with a focus on urban climate resilience as we continue to grow from strength to strength supporting clients, both in the UK and overseas, such as the Committee on Climate Change, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and World Bank. We also work with our colleagues across the business to understand climate risks to major urban masterplans and infrastructure assets and design innovative resilience solutions for the public and private sector.
Duties:
Undertake technical work and generate solutions to support the delivery of urban climate resilience and sustainability strategies / action plans
Support the bidding of new projects and business development activities
Support the facilitation of stakeholder engagement
Prepares and presents technical work
Support the development of new and innovative service offerings
You will be supported in continuing your professional development with training and support for chartership
Minimum Requirements
In applying for this role, we would like you to be able to demonstrate your ability in being able to demonstrate the following experience:
Strong understanding of climate change risk, urban resilience, and the role that infrastructure, spatial planning and governance plays in increasing resilience
Additional technical grounding in urban / infrastructure climate risk assessment, climate adaption, nature-based solution and/or green financing
Appreciation of the need for stakeholder engagement that includes a diverse range of participants within urban planning, with experience of facilitating workshops as an advantage
Understanding of commercial aspects of consultancy, including the role of business development, client management and have some experience in bidding for new work
Strong written and oral communication skills in English with good numeracy and graphic presentation skills an advantage. Additional language skills are also an advantage
Willingness to undertake project related overseas travel (post COVID)
