The Global Digital SaaS/Hosted Services Leader will be responsible for establishing a new global hosted services business that will manage the full lifecycle AECOM’s digital products, from opportunity identification, product development through to commercialization and operational support.
As a member of the global digital leadership team, you will work with professionals around the world to advance AECOM’s global digital strategies and priorities. The global digital team includes strategy, solution management, hosted services delivery, and consulting services delivery. The global digital leadership team works closely with our global digital capability center for digital engineering platforms and applications and the regional engineering and planning teams adopting digital solutions.
The Global Hosted Services Leader will report to AECOM’s Chief Digital Officer. This will be a primarily remote/virtual position that can be based from a variety of locations not limited to those listed.
Our industry is changing, our traditional engineering services are increasingly complemented and supported by digital products that bring new insights through data, greater efficiency through automation and improved performance through increased speed. At the same time, these digital products introduce service models and commercial models to our business.
At AECOM we call this Hosted Services, and we are seeking a leader that can drive our ambition for Hosted Services across our global organization.
Their key responsibilities will be:
Setting the strategy for Hosted Services in collaboration with AECOM’s Chief Digital Officer.
Building and leading a team of developers, product managers and product sales professionals.
Working across the organization to establish a pipeline of potential products.
Assessing the commercial viability of different opportunities, including developing the financial case, development plans and budgets.
Overseeing the development and commercialization of new products.
Establishing sales plans and overseeing their delivery.
Engaging with client teams across the company to generate sales opportunities.
Managing budgets for product support and feature upgrades.
Working with AECOM’s IT teams to put in place effective development and hosting environments.
Self-starter with the ability to work as a positive, energized and adaptable global team member
Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and influence senior leaders.
Strong commercial skills
Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skill.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to work under pressure and prioritize effectively
Flexible with work times to align with colleagues in different time zones
BA/BS plus EXTENSIVE years of relevant digital experience in either the engineering services industry, management consultancy or the software industry, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including at least 6 years of leadership experience.
Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal, in English.
Degree in Engineering or Information Technology
MBA or other business degree (desirable)
Demonstrated experience in successfully building and leading an engineering or software development team.
Proven ability at setting and executing strategic objectives for a department or division.
Prior experience in digital product development.
Proven ability to drive product sales, ideally in the software industry.
Good understanding of the commercial, legal and intellectual property considerations associated with software development.
Demonstrated ability to champion and drive ideas, programs and solutions.
Good understanding of budgetary processes and financial measures for assessing investment.
