Job Description

AECOM Spain Building Services Engineering team is a highly qualified group of professionals experts in offering the best solutions to international client’s needs all around the world.

Our team, as part of the continued growth of our business, is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer capable of leading and developing teams to complete both small and large projects. These projects span a diverse range of construction sectors including among others, Industrial, Healthcare, Education, Leisure, Aviation, Commercial and Defense.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading technically, designing custom solutions, mentoring mid-level and junior staff, and developing calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications for the electrical design work on exciting and complex projects.

In the role, you will be expected to:

  • Complete Electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes

  • Make major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff

  • Plan design work, calculates costs, and time schedules to assign design duties to junior staff working on projects.

  • Coordinates design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.

  • Maintains accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files.

  • Acts as an adviser and reviews correspondence prepared by junior project team members.

  • Attends project meetings, or when appropriate, delegates activities.

  • Meets with clients, prepares proposals and presentations while maintaining good client relations.

  • Assists in project checking for quality control on other projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or industrial engineering with Electrical Emphasis Engineering from an accredited program.

  • At least, 10 years of experience in a similar role or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

  • Team management/coordination experience.

  • Good knowledge in international regulations and standards (NFPA, BS, IEC, etc).

  • Proficiency in engineering calculation software for electrical discipline (CANECO, ETAP, etc).
