AECOM Hydraulic and Groundwater Engineer in Milan, Italy

AECOM is currently seeking a Hydraulic and Groundwater Engineer to join our growing Environmental team in Italy. In this role, you will work with our experienced team of hydraulics, hydrogeologists, geologists, geochemists and civil engineers on projects in the remediation, civil infrastructure, waste management, mining and water supply sectors.
This exciting role will involve:
Hydraulic and hydrological modelling using MIKE11, HEC-RAS, SWMM, HEC-HMS and other software packages.
Drainage system design
Flood risk analysis
Design and implementation of hydrogeological investigations of soil, bedrock, groundwater, surface water and soil vapours.
Overseeing and participating in field investigations involving drilling, geologic logging, sampling of various media, borehole instrumentation, well design/installation and aquifer testing.
Interpretation and reporting of site investigation results.
Development of 3D Geological Models using various digital tools and geostatistical software packages including EVS and Leapfrog.
Development of numerical models using MODFLOW, FEFLOW, HYDRUS, SEEP/W, and other software packages.
Working closely with environmental scientists and risk assessors to characterize and resolve environmental liabilities.
Duties including preparing proposals/workplans and managing project budgets, schedules, health + safety and project staffing.
Providing hydrogeological input to environmental assessments of proposed municipal, commercial and industrial developments.
Preparation of comprehensive technical reports describing field investigations, remedial activities and monitoring results to satisfy regulatory requirements.
Travel as required to meet project needs.
Liaison with clients and regulators.
To be considered for the position, the candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
Skills and Competences:
More than 3 years of experience working on
Italian: fluent (C2&above)
English: verbal and written excellent knowledge
Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
A working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, processes and procedures
Abilities in client liaison, and solution development
Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications and simulation software
Outcome and deadline focused
Ability to work within a project-based and team- based environment
Initiative - self starter
Health and Safety conscious
Engineer or geologist
