Hydrogen is also on the rise here and requires strong input from the electrical engineer. For the coming years, our client will continue to expand its network on Low Emission Fuels and we are currently building a dedicated team of experts for this program.

AECOM are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to lead our engineering and design activities. Depending on your location you can be based at either our offices in The Netherlands or France. become a member of the Multi-disciplinary Project Delivery Team reporting to the Design Manager. We are looking to enhance and grow this team with individuals who have a sound technical background, who share our enthusiasm and determination, to support our expanding workload.

The team provides design, assessment, inspection, construction support and management services on a wide range of projects.

Within this role you coordinate amongst others the design and permitting trajectory of one of our mayor Client's Retail’s Capital Development Programme, following all end-to-end stages and act as the bridge between Design Services and Construction Services on project level.

As an Senior Electrical Engineer you lead the design and calculate new technical installations. Within the preconditions of the customer, you translate specific requirements and wishes into a functional design of a future-proof installation. In this position you combine, coming up with smart solutions with the hectic pace of working on a number of simultaneously running projects. You work closely with modelers and have many internal and external contacts with clients, construction partners, consultants and suppliers.

The main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing and leading the design work of projects according to the agreed safety, quality, scope and time.

  • Being responsible for the design activities associated with the Electric Charger Deployment Program.

  • Carrying assignments to completion with considerable independence in accordance with project objectives, professional standards, policies and procedures.

  • Overseeing the preparation of very high-quality construction documents on both ground up and renovation projects.

  • Working with senior staff to produce technical solutions throughout design process.

  • Providing and supervising technological and technical input within the Multi-disciplinary team.

  • Leading the project in preparing robust and exemplar project information in close collaboration with our Global Design Service team in Bucharest.

  • Formulating the functional and technical project specifications for construction.

  • Showing thorough knowledge of construction costs.

  • Carrying out risk assessments and provision of design information for Health and Safety file.

  • Attending site during construction phase if necessary, to ensure construction is in accordance with specifications/drawings.

  • Carrying out safety assessments of the design.

  • Maintaining communication with the Project Manager during the duration of the project.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • At least 10 years work experience in this field

  • 10+ years of experience in a team-based practice with all phases of project development on from concept design through construction documents and construction administration

  • Knowledge of national standards and regulations international and industry best practice standards employed in the design of large-scale projects

  • ATEX knowledge

  • Capable of assuming the technical leadership role, working with multiple project teams

  • Sound knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit

  • Good understanding of BIM and other digital design tools

  • Scope statement knowledge, preferable able to write specifications

  • Ability to contribute to construction cost

  • Familiar with researching, preparing and presenting technical presentations and reports

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced Multi-site environment

  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills

  • Client interface experience

  • Experience managing small to midsize teams

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills in English, French and/or Dutch, both verbal and written

Preferred Qualifications

  • Substantial site experience

  • Client Monitoring Experience

  • Sound knowledge in Mechanical Engineering is a plus
