AECOM are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to be based in our Plymouth office. You will be part of a team providing comprehensive, accurate and value driven service on large, high profile and exciting projects for clients in the public and commercial sectors. AECOM have secured places on a range of UK Frameworks and the Plymouth teamwork across a wide range of sectors and clients. As a Project Surveyor, you will work as part of the team to help deliver all aspects of quantity surveying from inception of a project through to completion. You will be joining a highly skilled and respected multi-disciplinary design team working on a varied and interesting project workload. You will work on a number of projects, varying in complexity and up to £100m in value.
Feasibility estimates, cost planning, contract procurement, tender documentation, value engineering and commercial awareness, fee generation, dispute resolution, post-contract management.
Drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process.
Work on projects of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors and appropriate problem solving.
Be aware of and develop marketing opportunities and where appropriate bring to the attention of Directors and the Business Development Department, in order that they may assist in following up potential leads enabling the development of new business.
FUNCTIONAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Cost Planning: Area Schedules, Measurement of Quantities and entry onto Estimating software, Cost planning, Presenting Cost plan.
Tender Documentation: BQ/Pricing Schedule Measurement, Preliminaries/Appendices, Team/Project leader.
Tender Evaluation: Review and Analysis of Tenders, Tender Reports.
Value Engineering and Commercial Awareness.
Post Contract Management: Preparation of Valuations, Final Accounts, Cost Reporting, Change Control.
Support fee Generation through existing Client Relationship and repeat business, supporting the development of new relationships on behalf of the business.
Able to work under own initiative where appropriate, but also keen to work as part of a team and to be mentored and to develop and progress in their career development.
Effective verbal and written communication skills – Client facing.
Excellent numeracy skills.
Keenness to challenge, but in an engaging, not aggressive way.
An enthusiasm to go the extra mile, to provide great client service.
Articulate and able to interface directly and confidently with Client Leads and Design Team Principals. Achieves the highest standards of professional competence and to demonstrate this ability in all dealings with clients and professional contacts, reinforcing the profile of the company.
RICS chartered in Quantity Surveying or partway through the process.
