Position Title Civil Technician

Job Summary

The nature and scale of projects undertaken by the office varies widely and includes: building and infrastructure projects ranging from private residential developments to large scale commercial and public sector buildings; rail projects including culverts, bridges, station structures and trackside structures; wind farm projects; maritime projects including ferry piers & jetties, docks and lighthouses.

Projects are predominantly located in the South West of England but the Team frequently works outside the Region for established clients.

We are seeking a driven individual, with experience in Highways/Infrastructure draughting, ideally with a design consultant. Required attributes include:

  • Flexible to work on projects within Infrastructure engineering including primarily highways, drainage (including building drainage and SUDs) and topography / ground modelling

  • Previous experience with the preparation of feasibility and detailed design drawing associated with highway schemes

  • CAD skills should include ability in and demonstrable recent experience in AutoCAD (Civils 3D is preferable)

  • Experience in 3D highway and ground modelling design software packages (PDS or Civil 3D) would be beneficial

  • Should have good time management skills, be able to take responsibility and work under pressure to tight deadlines and work extended hours when required.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge of the design and construction of civil engineering projects.

Familiarity with relevant civil engineering design software desirable e.g. Civils 3D/PDS is desirable.

Additional training will be given Good ability with AutoCAD is essential.

Attention to detail Knowledge of CDM regulations and duties

Ability to fit into an existing team and co-operate with other disciplines Energy, flexibility and a desire to progress in their career

Preferred Qualifications

​Full, clean driving licence desirable

A higher level qualification e.g. HND/BSC would be desirable
