AECOM Multi-Disciplinary Site Manager in Swindon, United Kingdom

Job Summary

To assist in safe delivery of surveys as directed by the MDSM Team Leader, including operational delivery and Health & Safety. The post holder will manage and lead other members of the design teams, survey teams and sub-contractors on-site.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and innovative individual to lead, develop and identify process improvements, championing technical innovation and delivering best in class service to our clients.

The role will require the post holder to travel to sites where the Project is.

Responsibilities:

Promote correct health & safety behaviors in own works and on projects

Promote and encourage the reporting of accidents, incidents and close calls on projects

To promote and support the improved health & well-being of everyone involved in projects

Promote strong safety culture among the site teams

Project and Quality Delivery

Act as Site Manager on projects run by either MDSM or AMG

Instil a culture of continuous improvement on projects

Ensure a high standard of quality on all jobs and projects that are worked on.

Participate in quality and safety meetings as appropriate and contribute to continuous improvement

Site Management

Timely submission of shift summary reports and keeping on top of paperwork

Dynamically assessing and minimising risk

Finding ways to prevent problems and to solve any that crop up

Maintaining safety / quality control procedures

Making safety inspections and ensuring site safety throughout the shift

Ensures that the site is returned as found at the end of each shift

Ensures that the worksite is handed back timely and safely to the infrastructure owner

Operational Delivery

Act as the single point of contact on site for MDSM team on site for MDSM procured, AMG and wider Rail, Bridges & Structures projects

Co-ordinate and facilitate the access requirements of individual disciplines on a project basis

Ensure that all access and deliverables are on time

Client Engagement

To promote the capacity and capability of multi-disciplinary survey team

Work close with Client team on joint site audits

Work closely with key stakeholders during site walkouts

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

This is a fully rounded management role, including management of people, safety and project gates, as well as developing and building robust relationships with clients and internal peers.

Ability to motivate others: Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and build high performing survey teams, with a commercial mindset and strong business acumen.

Teamworking skills: Enthusiastic about delivery and innovation, you will lead by example and with a long-term strategic mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.

Decision making ability/ Problem solving: Well organised and proactive in finding solutions with a strong can-do attitude.

Knowledge of regulations: Minimum 6 years of experience in the railway environment with knowledge in various survey techniques and industry safety standards

Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels – Clients, Industry peers, Designers, Sub-Contractors, Temporary Visitors, Surveyors

Experience in rail working on projects associated with civil engineering i.e. bridges, platforms, stations, track, etc
