Job Summary

AECOM Netherlands is seeking an Experienced EHSS Consultant to join our growing team in Environmental Services in The Hague. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic team which undertakes a wide variety of projects for mainly international private sector clients based in The Netherlands and abroad. These projects involve, but are not limited to environmental and Due Diligence auditing, Seveso/ BRZO, permitting, resilience, soil and groundwater, analysis, assessment and application of the appropriate and actual Dutch environmental legislations.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as Project Manager responsible for the operational, technical and financial management of projects.

  • Be involved in Compliance and Due Diligence audits and Permitting procedures.

  • Analyze environmental data and write reports.

  • Communicate with governmental organizations on behalf of your clients.

  • Establish and maintain long term client relationships by delivering top-quality projects and cross-selling of other AECOM services.

  • Be a team player and help our Dutch team develop and grow.

  • Report directly to the Team Leader.

As part of our team, the Consultant is expected to implement safety, quality and customer focus into their day-to-day activities. The Consultant is expected to participate in all safety initiatives, and ensure the safety of him/her-self and their colleagues.

Minimum Requirements

  • Obtained or in pursue of a degree in HVK, Prevention Advisor and/or as Environmental Coordinator.

  • Expert in Seveso / BRZO consultancy.

  • Expert in soil & groundwater surveys and remediation projects.

  • Expert in one or more environmental topics.

  • Fluency in Dutch both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Bio-Engineering or another technical, environmental or chemical field of study

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role within the environmental consultancy and has proven experience in acquisition of new projects.

  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and (client) communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel frequently within mainly the Netherlands and occasionally abroad to meet the needs of specific projects..

  • Demonstrated excellent analytical and report writing skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of current date Dutch EHS legislation.

  • Fluent in English.
