AECOM Senior Architect in Warrington, United Kingdom

Job Summary

AECOM are offering a great opportunity to join our growing and talented architecture team in our multi-disciplinary office in Birchwood Park. Our modern office is located between Warrington and Manchester. We are looking for a senior architect with strong project experience of Revit along with a history of producing design and technical drawings.

Our varied and busy workload currently includes nuclear, power and energy projects, defence, water, ports, laboratories, transport, industrial and blue light services projects. Experience in these sectors required.

To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates with the following;

  • Excellent technical knowledge and good working knowledge of UK building regulations

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work alone, and as part of a team

  • You will also have knowledge and an understanding of BIM

  • You will be Proficient in AutoCAD (preferably at least V2014) and competent in Revit and Navisworks, although AutoCAD only would also be considered, and BIM training given

  • Due to the nature of the projects you will be involved in, you must be able to obtain UK baseline security clearance

  • Preferably, you will demonstrate a wide experience of design and project management within the regulated industries, and have worked previously on industrial, process driven and highly serviced projects.

  • Relevant experience in other sectors, i.e. healthcare, education, offices, laboratories, residential, transport will also be considered

  • The following are the responsibilities of the role:

  • Planning, designing and administering building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials.

  • Consulting with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structures or renovations, and prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials, colour, equipment, estimated costs and construction time.

  • Working on tender documentation and site stages.

  • Capable of working independently to deliver multiple projects.

  • Providing project management, liaising with architectural design team and client representatives as required

  • Drafting and issuing architectural drawings and specifications

  • Preparing and presenting technical design proposals using REVIT, AutoCAD, Navisworks and traditional methods

  • Working on the detailed design process and co-ordinating detailed design information

  • Preparing drawings, plans and documents for statutory approvals

  • Previous practical experience.

  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.

  • Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.

  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.

  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.

  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.

  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.

  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.

  • May review and approve conceptual designs.

  • May assist in the development of new architectural methods and techniques.

Minimum Requirements

  • ARB registered

  • Member of RIBA or RIAS

  • Completion of parts I-III RIBA

  • Degree qualification, preferably with Masters

  • Previous practical experience post registration with ARB

  • Able to obtain baseline security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree qualification, preferably with Masters in a University Course recognised by ARB/RIBA.
