Job Summary
If you thrive on pressure and want to be the technical lead for one of the largest, most dynamic and successful OLE design teams in Europe then this role could be for you. We are looking for a highly organised, motivated, resourceful individual who has a flexible can-do attitude to lead OLE team in providing design services on key projects and frameworks while supporting the wider AECOM business.
This post has prime responsibility for the following;
Management of all OLE staff in AECOM Europe
Manage the creation and maintenance of OLE design standards, tools and processes
Ensure cascades of technical changes to the OLE teams
Agree Training and mentoring new and established staff
Facilitating the identification and development of design efficiencies
Facilitating the development of new capabilities for new markets
Facilitating the identification of IT systems to solve specific design problems
Raising technical profile of OLE within and outside the company
As OLE Lead you will direct the activities of the design team across Europe in a complex and time-pressured environment utilising collaborative approaches to develop the best solutions for clients and stakeholders. Sound leadership and management skills are required.
The post will also include bid and project support activity at a senior level including tender preparation and cost estimates; developing and management of business opportunities.
A sound knowledge of UK basic design ranges, Network Rail, BS EN and TSI standards along with excellent report writing and drawing presentation skills is essential. To promote Continuous Professional Development, AECOM focusses heavily on technical support through our online academy, in-house training programmes, dedicated software support websites and individual seminars. As OLE lead the post holder will create the strategy for the development of the discipline to develop over 3-year horizon including growth, recruitment, skills, competence and digital targets and milestones.
Our current portfolio of work includes diverse commissions such as Euston Station and approaches remodelling, HS2 and S&C Renewals for the whole of the Southern half of the UK. Our growth plans are ambitious, including the development of Global Design Centres to support these major commissions as well as prospective work in Singapore, California, Scandinavia and Canada.
Minimum Requirements
Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent preferred along with considerable experience in Overhead Line Electrification design. A sound knowledge of technical standards relating to electrification, and Network Rail business documents governing project and engineering control

Preferred Qualifications
